Within the department, Associate Professor Margaret Sunde leads research on amyloidogenic proteins, which are similar in structure and functions to proteins involved in Alzheimer’s Disease. I worked in Dr. Margaret Sunde's laboratory.» 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬• Solve the protein structure of MPG1, a hydrophobin secreted by the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae, causing a devastating disease of rice called the Rice blast and that can result in loss of a third of the annual global rice harvest.» 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬• Conducted computing simulations of amyloidogenic proteins stability in different solvants• Carried out the computer determination of the 3D protein structure of MPG1 (a protein expressed by a fungus called Magnaporthe oryzhae) using 3D-NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) which was published in Biomolecular NMR Assigments in Apr 2012.
