In addition to teaching full-time, I am a postgraduate student at Stellenbosch University. I'm passionate about curricular innovation and reform in science education, with a focus on project-based learning in particular. At university level, I concentrated on extending my personal skill set by, among other things, tutoring university courses, working as an assistant for a professor, and getting involved in a variety of projects including planning a math fun day at a local primary school. Additionally, I was chosen to travel to Berlin as part of an exchange program where different facets of multilingualism were investigated in the classroom. This opportunity was a fantastic learning opportunity that gave me a fresh outlook on the existing educational system as well as useful knowledge and skills that I can use in my own classroom. In order to attempt to accomplish South Africa's vision statement to provide quality education for all learners in all schools, I wish to use both my research and my experience in the classroom to influence how our curriculum is taught in schools.
