Pulling from my extensive background in C-suite roles, I offer consultant and advisory services to regional health care providers, nonprofit organizations and real estate development companies. The focus of my services is on delivering strategic and operational consultations, coaching/mentoring and project/development support and advice.

Temple University Health System, Senior Vice President / Chief Administrative Officer (2014 – 2019) | Chief of Staff (2006 – 2014)During my tenure with Temple University Health System, I oversaw and directed key Health System functions: Marketing and Communications, Government and Community Relations, Health Policy and Advocacy, Human Capital Resources, Business Development and Real Estate/Facility Services, while reporting directly to the CEO/Dean.– Led system-wide strategic planning and operations, business development efforts and effective functioning of executive leadership group, including operational, financial and clinical leaders.– Built strong functional teams; recruited/mentored team leaders, managed six direct reports and over 250 staff.I also led key communications/external affairs and business development for the organization.– Instituted new Temple Health branding, ad and marketing program linked to clinical investment plans.– Developed and managed overall strategic communications of media, governance, staff, elected officials and Marketing during nurses’ strike at Temple Hospital.– Partnered with Temple Health CFO to develop strategy and negotiate arrangements with elected and appointed government representatives to stabilize Pennsylvania Commonwealth funding for clinical enterprise, resulting in increasing level and stability of Commonwealth funding.– Sold unneeded real estate assets at Fox Chase Cancer Center and other operating units.

University of Pennsylvania Health System, Associate Executive Vice President, Government Relations / Community Affairs (2000 – 2006)I managed government relations and community affairs for Health System and School of Medicine while also presenting at seminars and participated in panel discussions on health policy matters.As the Corporate Secretary of multiple Health System boards, I coordinated Health System’s corporate boards and related activities.University of Pennsylvania Health System, Associate Vice President, System Development / Physician Recruitment (1998 – 2000)As an AVP, I supported the CEO in ensuring the proper and efficient coordination of major activities and functions of the Health System, working directly with senior Health System and University leadership.– Coordinated Health System strategic business development efforts and physician recruitment.– Evaluated new system and business development opportunities and negotiated transactions.University of Pennsylvania Health System, Associate Chief Counsel, Health System Development (1995 – 1998)I was recruited to manage legal matters related to hospital affiliations and physician network development activities, collaborating with Health System’s senior management in significant and sensitive matters and transactions.– Led a team of 5 attorneys, paralegals and other support staff.– Provided legal services for Franklin Physician Services (FPS), a management services organization; developed organization’s legal structure, preparing and negotiating client management services’ agreements and other support for FPS, including HR and corporate services.
