I have been tasked with the development, maintenance and execution of the top-down and bottom-up stress testing framework for the South African banking system as well as the development and implementation of a top-down Macro Stress Testing Model. The model is used to measure the resilience of the financial system based on solvency and liquidity risk. Other key performance indicators include the identification and design of stress scenarios and/or prepare data for stress testing purposes as well as the performance of stress tests and sensitivity analyses. Keeping abreast with international best stress testing practices for the purpose of early detection of systemic problems in the financial system. To effectively apply emerging knowledge in own field of expertise. Preparing case studies, run seminars for colleagues and mentor junior staff as well as undertake research regarding financial stability related issues. Prepare briefings and presentations on research findings and economic analyses and participate in internal debates regarding financial stability issues.

Similar to a Graduate Development Programme, the objective of this position was to develop a complementary measure of economic growth in South Africa from the expenditure side of the economy.
