• As part of the R&D team, I played a pivotal role in the development of 2 Powered-Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) products, ProFlow and Phantom-Vision. These systems, designed to provide 170 litres/min of purified air.
• Designed the more-efficient ProFlow blower using CFTurbo 3-month license software, extending high pressure operation from 5.5 to 8 hours & saving approximately £80,000 through internal design
• Researched and configured new BLDC Motor Controller as part of vital project requirement & utilised it to conduct efficiency tests on 3D-Printed blower prototypes
• Conducted in-depth analysis of circuit designs in Altium & SPICE simulations, providing valuable insights to the project (new PCB) and reporting back to senior electronics engineer
• Reduced design-simulation time by self-learning Computational Fluid Dynamics & collaborating with external 3M expert, for ongoing design analysis and decision-making
• Automated blower design process for Phantom-Vision using Python & batch files and presented future cost-time efficient opportunity for wider 3M group by documenting it
