In my current role, I am responsible for managing a dynamic team to ensure that both weekly store targets and individual personal targets are consistently met, alongside key performance indicators (KPI). A crucial aspect of my job involves constant interaction and communication with customers, assisting them in selecting appropriate products to ensure their satisfaction. My effective communication skills and flexibility significantly enhance not only my performance but also that of the entire team. I regularly report to the regional manager, providing updates on the store's progress and any relevant developments. As a keyholder, I perform essential duties such as opening and closing the branch, ensuring the store is secure and ready for operation each day. My dedication to the role was recognized in 2023 when I was awarded the top part-time sales consultant of the year. Additionally, my responsibilities include relocating and unboxing beds, mattresses, and various household furniture on the shop floor. It is important to note that this position is also commission-based, offering an incentive to excel in sales and customer service. Through out my career here several salary promotions were offered with many other forms of incentives due to the exceptional nature of my service.

During my time working in the SIHMDS department, an immunophenotyping and molecular lab, I passionately engaged in learning the fundamentals of the field, which significantly contributed to my final year of university. I balanced my time working across various areas of the lab, experiencing morphologies, producing antigen markers, cell fractionation, and DNA extraction. I diligently worked to complete my IBMS portfolio in order to become HCPC verified, ensuring I became competent in all my laboratory tasks. This included performing several audits, both EQA and IQC, to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of the laboratory's operations. I analyzed patient results using the Flow cytometer, a crucial tool for diagnosis, and aided in downstream processes to help reach diagnoses for patients in need. To streamline daily operations, I successfully booked samples using the laboratory LIMS service. Additionally, I handled liquid nitrogen to store samples and cells for future use and conducted a research project on leukemia. Throughout my experience, I also encountered and understood the use and importance of various medical equipment, which enhanced my ability to perform my duties effectively. My role involved performing various assays and tests critical to patient diagnosis and treatment. Due to my excellent work and dedication, I was honored with the Employee of the Month award. Throughout this period, I worked as part of a dedicated team, collaborating closely with consultants, senior scientists, and nurses, gaining invaluable insights and key skills that proved instrumental in my academic and professional development as a biomedical scientist. This hands-on experience not only solidified my technical expertise but also reinforced the importance of precision and teamwork in delivering quality patient care.
