I've been programming since I was six, typing QBASIC programs from a magazine. I started my professional programming career in 2005 working with a variety of technologies over the past 16+ years.I've played with over two dozen languages during my life from BASIC/QBASIC, to MOOCode, to Perl, to COBOL, to LION, to Pascal, to Java, to ASM (x86, ARM, THUMB, MIPS, and 65c816), to FORTH, to VB 3 ~ 6, to VB.Net, to Powershell, to KBASH, to C & C++, to several versions of SQL (MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, Informix, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and others), to Intersystems Caché (and ObjectScript), etc.I now mostly work with C# and Javascript professionally and have been using both since their 1.* version and enjoyed their evolution like the JQuery era which led to Babel, and the development of Entity Framework, LINQ, and dotnet Core.Working with Azure and AWS to try to add DevOps abilities has been interesting although I am not an expert. I'm definitely more of a programmer than a SysAdmin even though coding the deployment environment (with the benefits of source control) is definitely the future (or present).Lately I have been getting up to speed with dotnet 6 and C#10 and the latest React versions to update my skills and get familiar with the modern APIs.I am interested in learning Blazor, MAUI, Rust, and Python if I can find some simple interesting projects to try them out.I can learn anything and love a challenge.
