I am an incoming student at Columbia's Management Science and Engineering. I completed my B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering with a Second Major in Economics from National University of Singapore. Over the last few years I have undertaken several research projects and internships in the Technology and Healthcare industry focusing on Product Development, Mechanical Innovation and Strategy. I completed my thesis in Biomedical Engineering focusing on cutting edge research to utilize pressuring sensors for non-invasive BP reading. I have been part of this project since its conceptualization as an Undergraduate Research Engineer and Project Manager which was awarded a grant of 100,000 SGD and has been nominated and shortlisted for the NUS FOE Innovation and Research Award 2019-2020. I am also interested in Economics and its application in technology. My focus as economics as a second major is in Firm Strategy, Innovation Management, Finance and Quantitative Analysis.I am passionate about working with diverse cross disciplinary teams on technical and complex engineering problems. Grade Received A+ (top % of Mechanical Engineering cohort).• Utilized piezoelectric sensors to design the core setup, determine sensitivity and reproducibility, and optimize its set up for application and data collection.• Conducted 40+ test trials measuring the radial arteries of volunteers to implement the BP conversion algorithms and get regression analysis models. The Pulse Decomposition Analysis technique helped me create an algorithm that used pulse waveform data to measure BP from the wrist.• Developed a model to determine the Central Venous Pressure by creating an internal jugular vein phantom using a setup pump controlled by microcontrollers.• Solely managed the program where I was in charge of design of experiment, work flow, future plans, sourcing of materials and managing the funding of 100,000 SGD• My research paper and thesis was used to develop an additional grant of 250,000 SGD from I2D (Innovation to Development grant call NUH). -
