Responsible for launching, building and growing the AirAsia Tech Center - the first tech center of AirAsia - to lead the digital transformation of AirAsia group.(A) Tech Leadership and Digital Transformation:Lead the development of PWA booking flow app from scratch as a single code base to be used across all devices. The app involved Home page, Booking, Web Check-In, Ancillaries cross selling, Flight Status, Chatbot and Communications options like SMS etc. Coached the team on Agile, DevOps, Test Driven Development and Microservices.Tech Stack: Python, Angular, React, Node.js, Selenium, Google Cloud Platform, Kong, Navitaire(B) Strategy and Planning:Developed the blueprint of Tech Center growth, focused on building the right team with the zeal of a startup - initially via personal network and later with the help of my TA team. Established relationship with top engineering schools in Bangalore to attract freshers and intern talent.Focused on quality is everyone's business and structured the team into multiple PODs to ensure proper ownership of body of code - right from inception to commercialization of code.(C) Operations and Governance:Helped setting up ATC as an entity under AirAsia Berhad. Established different forums to engage the staff and scale individual and teams. Established flat structure in the organization to enable a true startup and positive culture in the organization.(D) People and Culture:Headcount growth from none to 40 involving Tech Leads, Software Engineers, Product Managers, UX Lead, TA and Finance. Encouraged design thinking as an integral part of software engineering. Established hiring and performance review processes from scratch. Implemented OKR process to channelize people energies in line with the organizational vision. Conducted staff and focused group meetings.
