I'm excited and privileged to be leading AWS Local Government engagement and supporting my colleagues to transition and evolve local councils and the communities they serve - this is AWS's Customer Obsession.Anthony was Director at Noosa Council, leading a team of 65 dedicated professionals, responsible for environmental management, strategic planning, development assessment, economic development, technology hub operations, climate change response and net zero emissions pathways.Anthony has accumulated a deep knowledge of the government sector (Local, State and National) in the UK, New Zealand, NSW and Queensland, specialising in regional & business development. Prior to influencing economic and community policy in communities along the East Coast of Australia and NZ, he spent 15 years leading pricing, revenue management programs & systems for major telecommunications, utilities and media organisations in NZ, Canada and the USA. He is comfortable in a mentoring role. With a background in sports coaching and refereeing, his greatest professional achievements have required strong leadership and the building of trust to affect cultural change, resulting in revenue growth and sustainable business process change.He has been very successful in forming and facilitating multi-disciplined teams to attract funding for infrastructure (e.g. Peregian Digital Hub & FireTech Program, National Broadband Network, community services), indigenous development (jobs market), regional programs (creative industries, innovation, social enterprises), and event bids & sponsorships (NRL, RWC 2011 team hosting, A-league, SEGRA).
