Westlake Boys High School are building entrepreneurship as a pathway, developing NZ’s next entrepreneurs. Openground is a new level of experiential education. It provides a pathway between academic theory and learning, and the practical reality of running a business. As a business incubator, we want to build sustainable businesses that can empower student’s success for years to come. I am really excited to manage the development of this ambitious programme within the school, while exploring broader opportunities for the programme.

The Resilience Project (TRP) delivers emotionally engaging programs to schools and businesses, providing practical, evidence-based, positive mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness. Since launching TRP’s School Program in four Auckland based schools in 2020 (two weeks before Covid arrived in New Zealand), I am extremely proud to know that in 2023 TRP will be delivered to over 16,000 Year 1-8 Students in 46 schools throughout New Zealand.

It was a privilege to be part of this wonderful Foundation, whose aim is to make a meaningful difference to young New Zealanders in our community. Having got it up & running in 2017, I was extremely grateful to be provided the opportunity to lead the delivery of the following achievements since then.- Establishing TDF's scholarship programme, which has now awarded 73 scholarships worth over $1million.- Establishing the Boost programme, which was delivered during school holidays in Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne.- Working with Rebel Sport and ACE Sport to deliver the Pass It Forward programme, providing over 20,000 sports balls to over 200 deserving schools and sporting organisations. - Launching The Resilience Project’s Education program into four Auckland based schools in 2020 (two weeks before Covid arrived in New Zealand) and growing the programme to a point that in 2023 it will be delivered to over 16,000 Year 1-8 Students in 46 schools throughout New Zealand. - Holding five consecutive Gala Dinners since 2018, raising over $1million.

This role fitted well with my strong desire to give back to those who have played a significant role as to who I am today. The main purpose of the role was to raise funds for various school projects that serve to future-proof the school's well-being. The completion of their new indoor cricket centre was the main fundraising project. Role included the advancement of relationships with members of the school’s community, including fellow old boys.

The focus of this contract role was to assist individuals and businesses to develop and implement their philanthropic vision. This included helping them identify their philanthropic values, thoughtful planning and practical guidance.

When I was appointed General Manager at First Foundation in 2009, I felt extremely privileged to be given the responsibility of leading such a wonderful organisation. My six years there were so rewarding in many respects. - Significantly increasing the number of scholarships awarded on an annual basis.- Witnessing the development of our scholars as they moved through the First Foundation programme and their achievements post scholarship.- Overseeing the development of First Foundation’s ‘high support, high expectations’ programme – in particular with regards to our mentoring programme.- Being supported by so many in the business and wider community.

Under my management, the Services Channel underwent considerable growth and achieved significant success, including nearly tripling its revenues over a period of two years.

During my stint at Ticketek NZ, notable achievements included a record year-end EBIT performance, the renewal or extension of exclusive ticketing contracts of key clients in an increasingly competitive environment and delivery of major technological initiatives into the New Zealand market.

Pillar, a marketing and communications company, was set up by a colleague and myself to offer a full range of services to give clients a fresh approach to managing marketing and commercial objectives. It provided expertise in key projects requiring additional or more specialised resource, while offering the flexibility of ongoing support on a regular basis. Clients included CallPlus Services Ltd, North Harbour Rugby, Rockline Distributors Ltd, Andrew Brands, Recreational Services Ltd, August Dean Group, New Zealand Internet Services.
