I develop and deliver course materials, syllabi, and lectures for master-level counseling students in compliance with the university curriculum standards and guidelines. I cultivate a safe, comfortable, and empowering classroom environment in order to encourage students to engage with and retain the material from an intrinsically motivated mindset. I perform EAP, insurance, and private payment funded counseling services for a wide range of clients and patients. I supervise and coach a team of behavioral health interns and clerical staff while overseeing all the practice business operations including: bookkeeping, billing, finances, licensure, and marketing. I also review, compile, and process all the insurance authorizations.♦ Spearheaded all COVID-19 operational changes and guidelines while maintaining pre-COVID financial margins by proactively transitioning to tele-therapy services and an upgraded HIPPA-compliant virtual tele-therapy training platform aligned with the preexisting electronic medical records and documentation system. ♦ Drove revenue up by $20K over second year of tenure by changing practice hours to offer evening appointment periods, doubling marketing efforts, and becoming paneled in order to accept multiple private and Medicaid insurance providers.

Responsible for all clinical services provided by Assertive Community Recovery Health Services (ACR). Responsible for overseeing and developing the Clinical Department including hiring, supervision, evaluation, and scheduling. Supervise a multidisciplinary team of physicians (Psychiatrist), program directors, registered nurses, social workers, therapists, substance abuse professionals, peer specialists, vocational rehabilitation specialist, case managers, counselors, utilization department, and clerical staff. Ensure ACR’s clinical programs operate in compliance with the latest standards, to include Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disorders (DBHDD) Provider Manual, Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Georgia Department of Community Health Drug Treatment and Education Program, The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and applicable insurance agencies. Collaborates with staff psychiatrist and clinic staff on a frequent basis to address behavioral health needs, complaints, and incident reports to support the recovery process of individuals in treatment. Work with CEO to develop, maintain, and monitor practice financial responsibilities.

I managed an average caseload of seven to ten, while completing the daily acute psychiatric assessments across the emergency department. I made vital level of care recommendations to the staff psychiatrist and subsequent units. I managed communication between the hospital house supervisor and the internal units. I liaised with the insurance companies in order to process authorizations. Delivered individual and group counseling sessions, created and updated effective treatment plans, and evaluated patient progress. ♦ Promoted from emergency room PRN behavioral health assessments to on-the-unit part-time Counselor position. This was achieved through dedicated efforts to analyze and improve upon the assessment process and proactively taking on internal unit duties; additional shift work, collaborative assignments, and ad hoc counseling prior to position onset. ♦ Selected to cover the 12-hour Saturday shift, representing Behavioral Health Unit admissions department in lieu of managers as primary unit and crisis resource.
