Led, directed and developed the headquarters staff of one of the Marine Corps’ largest and most geographically dispersed commands. MCICOM is a global organization that operates 24 military bases and air stations, has over 35,000 employees, $55 billion in assets, and annual expenditures exceeding $4 billion. We established and implemented installation policy in the areas of supply chain management; maintenance; transportation; contracting; facilities construction, maintenance and services; and information technology. I was responsible for the smooth operation, administrative efficiency and effectiveness of a diverse team of military and civilian personnel, who oversaw the daily operations of the organization. I facilitated outstanding morale and camaraderie through genuine concern for the well-being of all personnel which materially contributed to the accomplishment of all operational commitments.

Led a diverse Marine Corps command consisting of over 2000 Marines, Sailors and Civilians dispersed throughout Japan and the Western Pacific region. With an annual budget in excess of $35 million, the unit was responsible for providing all facets of logistics support to include medical, ammunition, subsistence, and vehicle and equipment maintenance, transportation and supply chain management services. Planned, coordinated, and executed logistics for USMC units participating in over thirty exercises and operations in the Pacific Rim. I led several initiatives designed to modernize and improve operational logistics for the warfighter by reducing customer wait times and maintenance cycle repair times for critical equipment components.

Senior aviation logistician responsible for managing all facets of aviation logistics support, sustainment, and planning for 3d Marine Aircraft Wing which consists of over 250 aircraft of all type/model/series in the Marine Corps aviation inventory. Senior aviation logistician responsible for managing the aviation logistics support and supply chain management for 2d Marine Aircraft Wing. Worked with supply chains managers at the enterprise and user unit level to ensure that the right items were placed at the right location and at the right time. This was significantly important as we were in direct support of the war effort in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, I supervised a staff of approximately 30 Marines and civilians who were responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable quality assurance directives as they related to inventory and financial management. I also directed implementation and execution of newly developed automated information technology systems that supported supply chain management efficiency and effectiveness.

Led one of the largest aviation logistics squadrons in the Marine Corps in combat operations. We were responsible for more than 160 aircraft of 13 different makes/models that included both fixed and rotary wing. Accountable for squadron performance, combat readiness and personnel welfare. Implement the aviation logistics support plan to maximize aircraft readiness and material condition in support of combat operations in Al Anbar province Iraq. Employed Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvements techniques in order to sustain combat readiness and the ability to rapidly deploy intermediate level maintenance and supply chain management in the most efficient and effective manner. Managed manpower, staffing, and training for over 1,000 Marines and Navy officers and enlisted at three air bases dispersed throughout Iraq.
