This automation led to a 30% improvement in the turn around time of transaction processing and a reduction in error rates by 80%. Member of team covering treasury back office functions that successfully implemented the change in banking software to the globally acclaimed Temenos 24, the first bank in Nigeria to do so. The process entailed scoping, business requirement documentation, functional specifications, system build, user acceptance test, then finally go-live.Directed the back office settlement of all foreign exchange trades, third currency deals and all trading activities on the various trading platforms into their correct accounts. These deals were initiated from the front office then routed through the middle office. The various accounts are not updated until the deals have been correctly settled.Drove the BankPHB end of the automation of inter bank funds transfer in the Nigerian banking industry. The ensuing online real time regime improved the turn around time and increased efficiency by 50%. Championed the service initiative in the treasury back office function by setting up a customer service desk manned by appropriately trained personnel. This process was in line with global best practices and improved turn around time in loan booking by 35%. The margin of error reduced by 40%. This centralization also freed the personnel who handled this function to take on other responsibilities thereby saving the bank about US$300,000 per annum in personnel costs.Headed the central support services at the head office with oversight functions to treasury operations, cheque management and domestic operations teams and managed over 40 people. Drove the centralization of cheque book printing which led to a reduction of the losses incurred from wrongly prepared chequebooks by over 50% and the fraud resulting from stolen chequebooks reducing to zero. This was achieved by instituting proper and adequate dual control measures.Member of the cost containment committee that reviewed and recommended capital expenditure in the bank for approval.
