Amazon Cloud Re-Architecture – Redesigned and ported existing back end system to form a reliable, scalable, and inexpensive computing platform in the AWS “cloud” including experience with EC2, SQS, and Dynamo DB. Defined Contributions Phone Representative 3-Tier Workstation Project - Responsibilities included business object modeling against an existing SQL Server database using Rational Rose. Designed, developed, tested and implemented COM/DCOM based components in C++ as well as integrating these Business Objects as a common base to the Fidelity.com Web Client, a 3000+ user nation-wide Client/Server application written in Visual Basic 5.0 / 6.0, and the Voice Response Unit for phone based transaction processing. Intranet Customer Representative Rules Engine - Designed, developed, tested, implemented and deployed Intranet based components allowing reuse of existing COM Objects also including extensive SQL development. These components wrapped an existing 'rules engine' as user and client rights stored on an existing SQL Server database. This ‘rules engine’ was needed as a base for security, but could not be modified as it was used as the back end to several existing applications. The user and client ‘rights’ data model was actually translated to VBScript code at runtime, then this code, and the client application’s data model were passed to the VBScript engine provided by IE 5.0 to be executed. This process automatically updated the VB client application’s data model to represent the existing ‘rules engine’ database. A Visual Basic front end was also developed to reverse engineer this component-set against the existing database, which is in production for 500+ users.
