I followed the crowd right up until I was 30.I went to University in Ireland at 18 to study accountancy, as I liked the accountancy teacher in school and I was told that it would be solid, well paid career.I spent 4 years studying accountancy - did one interview and jumped on a plane to Australia as I knew this was not the career direction for me.I spent a year in Australia and I was still clueless as to what career direction to take. I decided to apply for a Post Grad in primary teaching as a few people said I’d make a good teacher and again it would be a solid, well paid job.I persevered with teaching for 4 years (working in the UK, Kuwait and Ireland) even though early into the career I knew it wasn’t right for me. I eventually hit a wall and caused myself mental turmoil, before I finally said enough is enough and left my permanent job.I then found a (less paid) job as an additional needs assistant supporting teachers who were teaching children with additional needs. This took a lot of pressure off me and allowed me time to build myself up and figure out what career direction would actually suit me.After 3 years of an exploratory mission (2 years in the assistant role) I found career fulfillment coaching. That 3 years brought me to living in Spain for 4 months and then onto living in Reykjavík, Iceland (where I currently live, since October 2023).Why Iceland? - my wonderful 6 year old son lives here.I’m grateful for the round about way I did things as it has given me the experience to help others on a similar journey looking for career fulfillment.I help people find clarity on careers that light them up through the learnings I picked up on my journey.I struggled with direction, limiting beliefs and the fear of the unknown, but I figured out strategies that could save you any similar heartache I had to go through. It would be my honour to support you on your journey to a fulfilling career. A fulfilling career is the missing jigsaw piece in so many people’s lives and I’ve realised it makes everything else fall into shape.I don't know where the funky shirts came from - I guess I'm a colourful character 😂[Recently , I've found a huge interest in global affairs that has led me to complete a course in globalisation and enjoy reading around the topics of philosophy, economics and politics. The next steps for me is recently jumping into the volunteer programme at the Red Cross and applying for a masters programme in International Affairs at the University of Iceland - exciting times ahead. Follow your curiosity not society :)]
