About Anthony Arcane
As an experienced explorer, expedition leader, classicist, and archaeologist with a focus on Eastern and European material culture in hostile environments, I’ve been allowed to explore parts of the world that are generally neglected within the scientific community. My focus is emphasized through the study of material culture and ancient texts in: Greek, Roman, Celtic, Viking and Late Norse, Egyptian, Scythian, Native American, and the Ancient Kingdoms of Britain. Being a biracial minority (Scottish Sudanese), I want to be a lead researcher in the field of ancient cultures that can instill a sense of representation & exploration in a scientific field lacking minority researchers. Targeting various environments that are not explored due to political unrest, environmental instability, and other various factors, I’ve pursued a goal to bring authentic scientific exploration to the forefront of public outreach platforms. I've been recruited by James Cameron & Rebecca Todaro to be the expedition leader for National Geographic’s OceanX, recruited by Discovery Channel as a TV Show Presenter and archaeologist by Cecilia Shakerley, and I’ve been approached for a multitude of expeditions through the prestigious Explorers Club as a lead member. One expedition is currently The Hidden Footprints of Cyprus Unveiled through Technology’ which is a Explorers Club Flag Expedition. Since the Club's creation in 1904, relatively few Flags have been awarded. We are now in a select group in the last 118 years. Not only Being a member of the Explorers Club, I am a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Listed skills include Writing, Excavation, Public Speaking, Outdoor Leadership, and 43 others.
