I am a results-oriented Local Government professional with a Bachelor of Commerce, double majoring in Accounting and Corporate Governance, a Masters in Business Administration, and a postgraduate qualification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). My diverse background spans both local government and the private sector, including five years of experience in an ASX-listed company.Throughout my career, I have been committed to achieving financial sustainability for organisations and serving as a valuable asset to my community. As such, I am an active member of the Queensland Local Government Finance Professionals Committee, where I hope to create consistency, equality and fairness across local Councils in Queensland.In 2023, I went into consulting, in partnership with other local government experts, to help Queensland Councils navigate complex challenges and improve their finance and governance practices. Our team provides expert advice on topics ranging from financial management to compliance and risk management, and we work with Councils to deliver positive outcomes for their communities.My experience in financial disclosure and management accounting, coupled with my strong work ethic and industry experience, has positioned me as a valuable member of the Tablelands Regional Council, Mareeba Shire Council, and Kowanayama Aboriginal Shire Council. I was honoured to receive the Queensland Local Government Financial Professional of the Year award in November 2016, and in the following year, the Council was awarded a sustainability award for financial sustainability initiatives that I spearheaded.In addition to my technical skills, I have also developed strong leadership and mentoring abilities, resulting in the development of high-performing teams that prioritise excellence and mutual support. Overall, I am a dedicated professional who is committed to improving financial outcomes and governance processes for local communities throughout Queensland.
