• Execute any necessary task required for residential and commercial architectural projects through all phases of a project's lifetime. Responsible for day-to-day mapping/GIS projects pertaining to an array of planning department needs.• Use of ArcGIS to organize, and manipulate data in order to present information geographically. Design, and update shape files pertaining to a variety of mapping projects. Create mapping features using ArcGIS tools for specific mapping projects, including: design of a map using voting result data to display election result demographics, display geographic locations/boundaries of all Lafayette Homeowners’ Associations, inventory of all city owned parcels, map the city’s existing/proposed bikeways, symbolize square footage of all residential living spaces per property.• Successfully updated the city’s Zoning/Land Use Designation map, by researching through the planning hard file archive. Created a report in the Planning Database using Microsoft Access, then designed a current and precise Zoning/Land Use map for publication.• Performed a study on the inventory of the Downtown Housing stock with other staff members, identified properties that had illegally converted away from residential use, and presented the findings to the Lafayette Planning Commission.• Aside from cartography and GIS I have experience working with various application forms, city ordinances and reports including: rezoning, land use permits, environmental impact reports, major/minor subdivisions and the General Plan. I have also performed field verifications of land use permits.• As a member of the Lafayette Mappers Committee, I took on the responsibilities of creating, formatting, maintaining, and organizing data on the company server. The committee is responsible for creating mapping conventions/standards in order to create consistency through out all city maps. The committee is also responsible for publication of all maps for the public. I created all the templates for the city's mapping conventions in ArcGIS, setting standards for future mapmakers to follow.

• Studied biogeochemical cycles as a member of the Moore Ocean Research group.• Hypothesized that ocean swells have an influence on nutrient input into the euphotic zone, enabling phytoplankton growth and therefore contributing to carbon productivity. • Gathered evidence through a method of research using LOLA ocean buoy models and ocean color raster data sets. • Analyzed AQUA/MODIS ocean color raster data images using ENVI image analysis software to observe changes in chlorophyll concentration and spatial distribution in response to ocean swell events.
