Helping Fuel NZ's prosperity in the city I love. In 2017 I returned to KPMG in Tauranga but this time in the Enterprise team. I get a lot of job satisfaction helping business owners understand their business better and create value while we're at it. Whilst still strong at my core accounting role, I spend a large portion of my role looking ahead with clients, setting goals, forecasting scenarios, planning for events and setting up reports to track progress. Then for those looking to exit, being a salesman in disguise, I take pride in preparing the business for maximum value and presenting this in an impressive sales memo. As a manager of a high performing team, I'm very thankful for those around me and for the training KPMG has provided throughout to date. I rate highly the experience from working at KPMG where I can see values and purpose in action, thank you to all who have contributed to this.

A short term position offering experience in the media industry through 21st century fox and the National Geographic Society. Primarily financial reporting and compliance focused, key responsibilities include preparation of financial statements, month end accounting, liaising with auditors, working with tax specialists and fulfilling internal audit/SOX requirements. With exposure to UK GAAP and UK tax, this is a great role to launch the next phase of my career.

Building on the auditing platform built at KPMG NZ, I moved to the British Virgin Island to grow my auditing career. The BVI added new flavour to my career through becoming familiar with operations in an offshore finance jurisdiction and by boosting my experience working with financial institutions.

Working my way from a grad to a senior auditor, My role transformed from being a staff member to being an in-charge. Throughout my time at KPMG Tauranga I gained valuable NZ GAAP and IFRS experience across a wide variety of business sectors, including financial services, horticulture, supply chain management and manufacturing. Duties included executing interim planning engagements through to annual completion, performing internal control reviews, analysing compliance, all with an emphasis on a client facing role. I have covered a broad range of entities with turnovers ranging from $20 million to >$1 billion.I am very appreciative of my time at KPMG Tauranga and look forward to keeping in touch with my former colleagues.
