– Emergency Dept staff nurse after administrative downsizing and termination of Resource Nurse Department. As Resource Nurse, duties included in-servicing staff on various patient care assessment skills, difficult IV starts, clinical documentation and telemetry interpretation. Instructed staff on safe equipment use, and electronic medical records for documentation. Assisted providers with intubation, lead responder for Rapid Response.  Transported critically ill patients within the hospital and transported critical ill patients to other medical centers.  Performed bedside invasive procedures, assisted cath lab team with care of patients. Direct assistant to the Nursing Supervisor and assisted with staffing and patient flow. Prior to promotion to Resource Nurse, worked in ICU, ER, Med-Surg, and Telemetry.  Provided resource to OB/GYN and the surgical departments.

Nursing Supervisor on a per diem basis. Utilized for special projects and staff educator. Utilized as staff trainer and super user of current Soarian patient charting system and including “go live” procedure. Included in special aspects of hospital operations such as planned “black out” procedures.  Participation in patient flow meetings, with problem solving and evaluation remaining the highest of priorities.

Transportation of the critically ill patient via ground transport to higher level of care. A job where you had to truly manage your patient but was supported by a great team of people. Cudos to all the great team members at NorCal and a job I truly loved and would still hold if life afforded me the time.
