Front Desk Clinician • Address patients' problems on the phone, diagnosing issues quickly and, if necessary, scheduling an immediate appointment• Check in and check out patients before and after appointments along with scheduling follow-up appointments if necessary• Validate patients' insurance policy and state ID information for AthenaNet patient portal• Process and fax work orders and doctor authorization forms to other physicians• Create and send prescription requests for physician approval in a timely manner for patient retrieval at requested pharmacy • Provide assistance for moving patients in wheelchairs downstairs and upstairsMedical Assistant• Interview patients in a pre-appointment interview, inquiring about their reason for the visit, addressing complaints/concerns or satisfaction with medications/treatments, and examining and recording vital signs (height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, body temperature, pulse rate, blood oxygen levels) in preparation for doctor examination • Relay information from pre-appointment interview to the doctor or physician assistant• Document the patient encounter (pre-appointment interview) into athenaNet EHR• Perform urinalysis (dipstick) tests on patients to determine presence of UTI or diabetes
