My position is in the Data Services group which is responsible for all the data and databases within the company. Being in the Telco / Networking space we deal with 100's of millions of cdr and mdr records a day. We have built an on-prem Horton works Hadoop Cluster and currently bringing all data from the disparate data-sources in house to this Hadoop ecosystem into Hive (ORC file) databases. We use talend - enterprise to do a lot of the ETL work. Most of the data is pulled from Kafka in a JSON payload and pushed to hdfs using talend. Also Talend jobs for loading from hdfs external tables into hive as well.

Analytic Engine Development for the ConneX product. Working on new features such as Common Name Weighting processing and porting the lssi's platform to Neustar's. Will be cutting application over from using Netezza as the database for storing Customer data to GreenPlum.Interface into the reference data will be into the MIF/MAF using API calls (Element ID's) initially via Java call outs in datastage.

Developing using Datastage/Quality Stage as well as developing the Business Intelligence frameworks, reports etc. using Cognos. Support and Admin datastage/quality stage as well as the Cognos 10.2.1 platforms too. Develop with DB2 and with the Netezza databases. Also very familiar with Oracle and Sql Server. Creation of the framework models that our group consumes with the Cognos reports. Also develop using Cognos report builder to create highly sophisticated reports, some of which use embedded Java Script as well. Strong Sql Knowledge. Lots of development experience in writing of triggers, functions and stored procedures in all our databases (Sql Server, DB2 and Netezza).Key designer of many of the Cognos Packages in Framework for Reports for department.Mentored Teams in Cognos, Database (SPs, Funcs, Triggers, etc.) and Datastage for group.Support and train team in writing and optimizing database queries, Datastage jobs, stored procedures and functions, as well as designing and debugging reports in Cognos.Perform Cognos duties in administrating users, framework modeling, reports, backups, Installs, exports, imports and Software Upgrades.Perform DataStage/Quality Stage administration duties, install, upgrades and support. Also authored many DataStage jobs and sequences as well. Our Analytics Engine sits on top of these DataStage jobs, of which I am one of the key designers and developers.

Developed with Cognos (Business Intelligence) software on a IBM DB2 Data Warehouse. Created many aggregate tables and dimensional cubes for use with Cognos reporting. Writing of Functions, Stored Procedures for the DB2 database.Built framework models using Cognos framework manager for use with reports.Worked on many projects dealing with Sql Server. Some of these used embedded CLR into Sql Server databases using Visual Studio in C#Senior Developer for legacy D1 hardware platform, database and software solutions, addressing development, source control, test product builds and EN & XR documentationMain developer on the MDB LOAD CERTIFICATION project. Writing most of the database code and its interfaces. Made additional changes to architecture to handle data of different types with the same code base, making it very flexible.Performed Cognos Training for Department. Responsible for Admin Code for the Directory One Platform. The admin code was mainly written in C and Pro- C/C++ with JAM/JAYACC all centered around an ORACLE Database(s). Primary role was to provided technical (software) support to the technical field support organization regarding installation and maintenance of our company products. In this role I worked down to the code level and many times used debuggers such as ADB, CDB and GDB to not only debug but also patch the code "live" in the field for a hot fix until we could get the changes into the main production stream.-Assisted in development of the Customer Service WPDB course and taught parts of the class. Student evaluations extremely positive towards knowledge and presentation.-Received recognition from VP of Product Marketing for effort regarding the Bell South EDA/CNA cut-over-Commendation of work on Bell Atlantic EDA project from Bell Atlantic Project Director-Recognition on contribution for 6/40 FT upgrades at SNET and BC- Power 6/32 FT Training Class- C Programming Level 1 Class- C Programming Level 2 Class

-Highest level obtainable in the field-Required in depth knowledge of the hardware as well as the software-Duties included support of the OS(s), compilers, and all software packages installed.-The System ran Embos (Elxsi Message Based Operating System), as well as VMS, BSD 4.2/4.3 and System V all of which I supported.-Designed as side project the "MACS" Field Management and Sales Database tool using INGRES, which the company used extensively.

-Went through BEE (Basic Electricity & Electronics) in Great Lakes, then Interior Communications school in San Diego. Also went through an additional EOS school, then was stationed in San Diego aboard the USS Tarawa in the Mini Repair. -Training Class/ Certified in NAVSEA Miniature/Microminiature Repair. -Interior Communications A School-E.O.S. C School-Solid State Theory School-NRI's Master's Course in Microprocessors and Microcomputers completed.-During time aboard ship made two West-Pacs (trips overseas). -Entered Navy as E-1 and end of 4 year term left as E-5. -Several Ribbons/Awards, one which was the Navy Expeditionary Medal {IRAN}.
