Led a diverse team of 33 Sailors in the safe maintenance and operation of all main propulsion and electrical distribution systems to include 5 Caterpillar 3608 diesel generators, 4 Colt Pielstick 16PC2.5V-STC main propulsion Diesel engines, and 2 Philadelphia Gear reduction gears as well as all ancillary subsystems in connection with the proper operation of a marine propulsion plant, to include seawater cooling, lube and fuel oil transfer and purification systems and electronic monitoring and control systems. Additionally managed equipment life cycle maintenance via various programs. Designated as Ship’s Oil King, responsible for testing and acceptance of all fuel and lube oils as well as administered the Fuel and Lube Oil Quality Management and Energy Conservation programs.
