Train and Mentor Soldiers in the middle East on FCO funded boarder stabilisation projects border protection and video surveillance / observation strategies.

As a WO2 I Managed and Administrated SFSG wounded, injured and seriously ill soldiers.This role involved liaising with the soldiers and their close family members to ensure as full recovery as possible. This was achieved by setting up an individual recovery pathway for each soldier to ensure either a return to operational effectiveness or meaningful employment either within the British Army civilian employment.

During this period I served as a Company Sergeant Major of A Coy 2 Para which contains a Snipers platoon, Reconnaissance platoon, and an Intelligence and Targeting section which coordinates Intelligence Surveillance Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) to collect information and HUMINT in order to have an effect on a particular target. I am also part of the Tactical Questioning Cell in which we gather and process information from detainees. In my current position, I manage, co-ordinate, discipline and administrate 120 soldiers and 15 officers this includes making sure the training that the soldiers are undertaking is of a high standard. I am also the manager for an account worth over several hundreds of thousands of pounds

Previous to the above I spent 12 years in the Special Forces Support Group (SFSG) During my tenure I was the OC of the Patrols Platoon in which I was tasked with providing a Close Recce both overt and covert reconnaissance / surveillance/immediate QRF /Strike/ Detain and Tactical Questioning support to several specialist government organisationsWhilst serving with SFSG I successfully planned and conducted a number of overt and covert operations in Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. I also played a key role in co-ordinating and training the Afghan Territorial Force .We trained these troops in collecting information for Human Terrain Mapping. These specialist teams are now a brigade asset. This then led on to training and mentoring A specialist Afghan reconnaissance team in covert mobile and static as well as human terrain gathering skills. These specialist teams are a Helmand wide asset who’s key roles are both anti narcotics and blending in with the community relaying real time information back to UKSF.
