Improving safety and efficiency in the rail industry Today’s rail industry is faced with mounting competitive, regulatory and cost pressures that call for significant improvements in operating efficiencies and rail safety. Over the last 30 years, I have made a successful career out of supporting rail operators and contractors to better manage the safety of their rail corridor projects. It has meant safer work environments, fewer rail network disruptions, and efficiencies that positively impact the bottom line. I have held senior management roles focused on operations, health, safety and environment, and risk management. I have worked across the rail sector, covering all phases of a project’s life-cycle including assessments, recommendations, tenders, commencement of operations, through to the successful delivery of the proposed solutions. Throughout my executive career, I have specialised in driving business improvement, delivering transformational change, and leading commercially focused teams.I am a persuasive communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and strive to earn my credentials as a trusted advisor to my clients in the rail industry. Safety is in my veins - to this day I hold a PO4 certification and you’ll often find me onsite ensuring that safety plans are being implemented properly and that workers go home safe at the end of each day.Industry experience:• Training Manager• Major Civil Projects• Construction• Safeworking Coordinator/Possession Protection Officer• Multiple Station UpgradesSpecialties:• Leadership strategy • Training and professional development• Compliance with statutory requirements relating to OH&S, Environment, Industrial Relations • Managing budgets and P&Ls• Business transformation• Growing revenue and profit• Strategic planning• Nurturing strategic relationships• Business development• Worksite Protection solutions
