During the pandemic, I became Make UK's full time QHSE Manager. The role has required me help Make UK retain their ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification through Lloyds Register, all of which required renewal just before Christmas and then, to migrate the OHSAS 18001 accreditation to ISO 45001, before the September deadline; which I am delighted to say has been achieved today. The accreditation journey has involved a huge amount of work, not just by myself but by everyone who works for Make UK. ‘I’d like to personally thank everyone for their participation, their cooperation, openness and, personal commitment that went towards the organisation being able to demonstrate a very positive health and safety culture. Achieving ISO 45001 is the start of a journey that has already begun to reinvigorate our commitment to safety, I know that I can count on all colleagues to continue their support as we progress to safety excellence.
