Senior Maintenance Manager across the Minerals Processing chain, comprising 2 Contractor operated mobile crushing units, and owner operated, 1.2mtpa Ore Beneficiation Plant, 8.5mtpa Fixed Crushing and Screening Plant, 1.8mtpa Magnetite Concentrator, Tails Storage Facility, Slurry Pipeline and 1.6mtpa Pellet Plant.

Lead a multi disciplined team to ensure the successful start up of the Crushing and Screening Plant at the newly reopened Iron Knob mine site. The RTO team participated in the project from design review stage and acted as the coordinator between the Capital/Contractor team and the Operations team on a greenfield site. The project included development of all operating and maintenance systems, spares, operating consumable supply chains, training, permits and membership of the commissioning lead team for the newly constructed 6mtpa Striker modular crushing plant. The project also involved mentoring and coaching the local indigenous mining contractor, Walga Mining and Services to ensure that all aspects of their newly formed business were ready to commence work on the scheduled date, including all safety, operations, maintenance and quality systems, recruitment, build up of fleet, and set up of facilities.

Lead a multi disciplined team to ensure the successful start up of the Magnetite Expansion Project at the South Middleback Ranges Magnetite Concentrator. The RTO team participated in the project from design review stage and acted as the coordinator between the Capital/Contractor team and the Operations team on a brownfield site.The project included development of all operating and maintenance systems, spares, operating consumable supply chains, training, permits and membership of the commissioning lead team for the newly constructed fine grinding circuit comprising an M10000 Xstrata IsaMill and Derrick Stack Sizer Screens.

Lead a multi disciplined team to ensure the successful changeover of mining contractor at the South Middleback Ranges mining operation, comprising a 5 excavator fleet, mining 1.8mbcm/ month over multiple pits. Upon selection of the new mining contractor the RTO team was responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the new contractors business were ready to commence work on the scheduled date, including all safety, operations, maintenance and quality systems, recruitment, build up of fleet, set up of facilities, transition plans and the safe interaction between the incumbent contractor.

Lead a multi disciplinary team of Engineers responsible for improving the reliability of the magnetite and hematite processing facilities comprising Fixed Plant Crusher, Ore Beneficiation Plant, Magnetite Concentrator and Pellet Plant. The role included all aspects of asset strategy development, engineering design and modifications, capital project engineering and delivery, reliability engineering, and equipment condition management.

Responsible for the Engineering and Maintenance functions for the Steelmaking and Casting Plant, comprising 1.2mtpa Basic Oxygen Steelmaking Plant, Lime Kilns, Combi Caster, 5 Strand Billet Caster and ancillary equipment. The role included development of asset strategy, maintenance execution, reliability engineering to improve performance and major shutdown management.

Manager of a multi disciplinary team of maintenance providers that executed both planned and unplanned maintenance work across the entire Whyalla Steelworks site 24/7. Team of 175 personnel included Planners, Supervisors, Fitters, Boilermakers, Electricians, Machinists and Instrument Fitters.The role also included the development and then management of the site wide Alliance Maintenance Contractor United KG, the Contractor Management Group and the Plant Maintenance Planning Group.
