Strategic and operational lead for HMRCs growth incentives and reliefs (c£10bn expenditure per annum) – comprising c350 nationally based colleagues. Responsible for setting the direction for our reliefs through the Growth Reliefs Administration Strategy and accountability for providing a timely customer service and tackling error and fraud(E&F) through the delivery of £420m yield target. Key achievements: - Led a turnaround of our customer service, going from a 50% failure rate to a 5% failure rate - Changed our operational strategy to increase revenue through ‘upstream’ activity whilst driving productivity improvements from our front line colleagues with a data-led approach - Sponsored a comprehensive well-being package for colleagues - Navigated through a National Audit Office audit of Corporation Tax Research and Development relief, securing positive feedback on the work done to measure and reduce E&F. - Secured Director agreement for the development of an overarching strategy document for our reliefs - Secured agreement for a package of measures to tackle abuse in R&D, including an across HMRC resource bid

Responsible for the delivery of HMRCs estimate of the tax gap. Leadership of a team of 20 analytical and project management professionals. High level stakeholder management both internally up to Executive Committee and externally with diverse stakeholders (tax professional community, NAO, academics, international fiscs).I have:-Led the development and delivery of a programme of external stakeholder engagement, including teach-ins with 5 of the major tax professional bodies-Hosted an international tax gap conference with 25 countries from 5 of the 6 continents in the world-I have successfully delivered two publications of MTG within 8 months, successfully managed stakeholders up to ExCom level to land a programme of development work -I successfully navigated a highly sensitive review from the Office for Statistics Regulation, receiving high praise for our international leadership -Instigated a programme of data studios to maximise the customer insight -Finalist for HMRC Team of the Year 2019
