Design of a solution covering two large camps consisting of more than 15000 rooms utilising GEPON.Design included full integration of CDMA Mobile Data and Voice, Trunk Mobile, UHF radios, Vehicle Tracking (barges and road haulage), security, entertainment systems, terrestrial and satellite long haul radio systems as well as WiMAX and fibre distribution.All systems able to talk to all other systems with IP as the primary transport and interface.International links to various jump off points into Belgium where the site network is able to operate was a full carrier solution reducing construction and operations costs for the owner.Based on Juniper MPLS core routing and acceleration on the carriage and Cisco with Aurora in the distribution.

Responsible for the testing methodology and regime for the telecommunications infrastructure including build-out and setup of the lab environments.Responsible for successfully negotiating testing process and ensuring that valid testing was used in bench testing as well as field trials. Negotiation and co-ordination of people and equipment resources across approx 22 different service and technology stakeholders and multiple field trial sites.Testing through the lab became a mandatory gate to production as the environments were a near match for the real network, supporting all applications and services as per the production network - without the risk.Responsible for 3 senior direct reports.

This was the foundation role for PPM Testing which included the early establishment of systems and practice.Within this role I played a part in established the basis of the Telecommunications Laboratory for Queensland Health, including the implementation of the testing equipment and tools including Spirent Test Sets, Test Manager, Satellite Simulators and duplicate of some of Telstra's MPLS Environment for whatif scenarios when testing and troubleshooting.

Responsible for the recovery and proper tracking and deployment of Telecommunications Projects for a key carrier customer by developing a set of processes and gating tools utilising MSSQL to manage available technical resources collaboratively, configuration snippets and automated templating as well as presenting historical audit details readily in a comprehensive single point solution - This also included a module for scheduling deployments, progress tracking/reporting.Inclusive in the project delivery was renegatiation of appropriate third parties, appropriate 3rd party documentation and progress funding, as well as payment recoveries from the principal and inclusion of extremely specific penalty clauses to increase ease deployment issues and provide friendly incentives for field operators.Took a series of projects from dead in the water losing money and, without consuming additional budget, reworked the project resourcing and technical tools to return projects to running on time and either under budget or break-even. Deploying 300 sites every 6 weeks with minimal in-house field and engineering resources I developed the relationships, contracts, work instructions and wrote in-house databases to manage workflow from audit through to handover.Managed several community wide security and wireless deployments in the mining industry. Most significantly being a wireless deployment covering the area of the Alcan Gove Facility, boats on the harbour and the who of the township of Nhulunbuy to EAL4+ with ip telephony running over the top.

Assisted in a major telecommunications design and review for the optimisation of the Suncorp MAN in Brisbane.Assisted in the integration of GIO networks as acquired by Suncorp.

Pre-sales and post-sales technical role.This role was self funded and was undertaken as to assist this business in starting up in the emerging FttX, WISP and Community Networks technology and business models. This work provided significant foundations for the understanding of technical, commercial possibilities at a time when the Australian Telco Framework was only starting to be understood by parties outside of Telstra and Optus.A direct spin-off of this work (completed by others) was the business and technical model deployed by Delfcam/Pivit.

The initial role in the Cisco was with their ATM WAN Switching team - Trained and worked on Stratacom class (Carrier Core ATM Switches) solutions with specialisations in Carrier Voice Switching, Circuit Emulation and Carrier Clocking.Moved to a Team Lead for SPSG group with responsibilities running the SPSG Relationship Managers and Technical Consultants within the Customer Advocacy organisation. This was a role that required significant soft skills as well as technical skill set as I spent considerable time alongside carrier and government engineering teams. Core to this role was assisting with resolving major issues which were not immediately classifiable by any of the organisations involved (Cisco, Customer or 3rd party vendor/partner).
