Validated, tested, and released calibrations for the gateway module between the autonomous driving supercomputer and host vehicle. Led a group of 4 calibration engineers utilizing agile methodologies to develop, test, and release calibrations to the wider development fleet.- Implemented solutions to address a fleetwide recall; solutions were created to address safety, regulatory, and fleet operations concerns stemming from the recall of Cruise autonomous fleet in Nov. 2023.- Used agile methodologies to validate and implement solutions quickly and effectively to get recalled fleet back on public roads. With public road testing resuming in July 2024.

Oversaw a group of 4 calibration engineers to release diagnostics around the gateway between the autonomous driving supercomputer and host vehicle. Utilized DFMEA analysis to identify then collaborate on the design and implementation of new diagnostics for the unique needs of an autonomous vehicle. Guided a group of engineers to validate all the diagnostics using six sigma methods to ensure 6-sigma robustness during operation. Used various methods to validate and diagnose issues either internally to the gateway or externally using CAN tools.- Led root cause analysis efforts for swift issue resolution in both the plant and the field. Examples include diagnostics falsely setting leading to manufacturing delays, diagnostics setting in the fleet, and determining if diagnostics are setting true or false failures.- Worked with suppliers to improve the robustness of their BIOS/board level diagnostics to keep from false failing and expanding the WPA window. Created a measurable change in functionality.- Used knowledge of CAN protocols to validate and diagnose communication issues.- Implemented and validated cyber security measures for communication packets such as ARC, LOC, and CRC.- Lead diverse groups of program leaders in addressing complex issues impacting multiple vehicle systems and regulatory compliance achieving the following: - Compliance with NHTSA and CARB vehicle requirements contributing to enhanced vehicle safety and diagnostic performance/reporting. -Diagnosed and resolved false failing diagnostics reducing plant build issues and streamlining the production process. -Addressed diagnostic performance edge cases, significantly reducing false failures or passes and enhancing diagnostic accuracy. -Collated and evaluated data to prepare for CARB certification submittal.

Developed and refined calibrations for optimal motor torque control in a 48v Belt-Alternator-Starter (BAS) system. Used diverse data processing methods to work large amounts of driver data into actionable takeaways.- Collaborated with engine and transmission calibration teams to identify impacts of BAS operation on customer drivability and diagnostics operations and weighed those solutions to potentially negative fuel economy impacts.- Procured, analyzed and collated driver data to certify fuel economy numbers for release to the Chinese market.

Created calibrations and new strategies for electric traction motor torque performance in GM’s first commercial performance hybrid. Created unique experiences and utilizing test properties such as racetracks, auto-cross courses, and low traction snow/ice courses.- Partnered with chassis control and performance teams to develop and implement strategies that significantly improved vehicle metrics such as quarter mile, 0-60mph times, and track performance. These efforts led to the E-Ray achieving a 0-60mph time of 2.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 10.5 seconds, making it the quickest Corvette in production. - Developed new feedback torque solutions with chassis controls experts to create first ever hybrid AWD Corvette system.

Developed and refined calibrations for strong hybrid engine start stop performance across multiple programs and 3 different countries. Provided root cause analysis and solutions to field issues to reduce warranty and buys backs.- Created unique engine start stop strategies to cater to various foreign markets.- Lead multiple development trips across the US and Canada to get practical data from various environments such as cold/hot weather and high altitude.- Designed and patented a new engine cold start strategy that improved engine start times by 34% and increased successful starts by 63%, significantly reducing engine stalls/re-key events when the system is limited by temperature and/or power constraints. - Addressed customer feedback that led to three buybacks by developing a new engine-auto start strategy, resulting in the elimination of further buybacks. - Produced certification documents for diagnostics related to engine start stop activities.

Developed and refined calibrations for High Voltage (HV) motor diagnostics for first – and second-generation Chevrolet Volt.- Created automated scripts and tools to verify diagnostic performance and identify emerging issues across multiple development fleets.- Documented all diagnostic performance data and descriptions according to the standards required for CARB certification, enabling vehicles to be certified and sold in California. This streamlined the certification process, ensuring compliance and facilitating market entry in the state. - Provided root cause analysis for issues found in both the development fleet and customer vehicles.- Performed limit case studies involving six sigma methods such as WPA and BPU analysis to ensure robustness of diagnostics.
