I'm an urban, health and recreation planning specialist with specific expertise in recreational planning, sports facility planning, social impact assessment, economic feasibility, active living, active transport, climate change, community consultation, research and data analysis. I currently work on the ACT Planning Review and Reform Project where, as part of a small team, I am developing a planning system that seamlessly and effectively integrates Strategic Planning in a Statutory Planning framework.Previously I have worked across Australia on a broad range of projects ranging between statutory planning, active travel, active recreation, active living and community consultation. I work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to produce outstanding results and my friendly and easy-going nature leads to the development of a cooperative and productive team environment. It's my ability to talk with people and get to the heart of their concerns that plays a vital role my ability to assess the essential needs of a project and to plan for facilities that meet the needs of the community socially, economically, environmentally and spatially.

Phd GraduateWestern Sydney University Aug 2010 - Sep 2016Canberra, AustraliaPlanning for climate change – a study of the understanding of the potential health impacts of climate change amongst urban and health planners in Australia.Climate change is likely to be the greatest challenge that humans will face in the 21st century. While many in the community accept the climate science and understand that climate change may have adverse impacts, rather fewer perhaps comprehend that climate change will have a significant impact on human health. However the science points towards the impacts on human health being large and widespread, with the largest impacts likely to be on the most vulnerable populations both here and abroad. Therefore a key to adaptation and mitigation of the effects of climate change will be to educate the population as a whole but more specifically key policy makers and planners on minimising those adverse health effects, and educate and influence the planners and policy makers about those health effects to help to build capacity into the system to help to minimise the health impacts of climate change. -
