I started the business with an $8,000 loan from a dear friend who happened to be a bank manager at the time. He had to classify the loan as "home improvement" so he requested I pile some 2x4's on my front porch to cover him! The loan helped cover the purchase of 23 water coolers and 14 active bottled water accounts. The deal also included the seller's secretary answering the phone and taking messages for me for one year. Through the 90's and early 2000's, a 100% annual growth rate was not uncommon. There is still solid growth, but nothing near what went on in the 90's. It was a blast! Campione Water Co. now employs 15 people, with a retail locations in Herkimer, and Yorkville, NY. I am so thankful for my long time faithful employees who have hung in there through good times and bad. The real success in my story can be traced to and attributed to them.
