As appart of the Academic Advisment Team at DeVry, I work with current students to help them achieve their educational goals. Consulting with colleagues is a regular part of my job in order to best advise our students. Besides discussing course progression wtih students, I regularly discuss topics such as; academic standing, program changes, withdrawals, and student resources.

My current role allows me to manage a front office team of 5+ employees, and help them to develop as professionals as well as providing the best possible service to our guest. I am responsible for training my staff, scheduling my staff, solving guest concerns, and determining the areas in which we can improve. More recently I have taken more of an active role in the revenue management, and the aspects of the budget pertaining to my department.

While I was in this position, I assisted in new employee orientation by preparing materials, coordinating speakers, and troubleshooting active directory errors. Coordinated classes offered through the Corporate University System (LMS) for employee improvement. Worked with colleges and universities, in order to obtain affiliation agreements, and place students for internships and clinicals. Conducted day to day operations such as; updating employee training course status in the Corporate University System, ordering materials, typing up minutes, and setup and tear down of instructor led training classes.

I was responsible for opening and closing the store, running inventory, receiving shipments, resolving customer issues, effectively selling products, assigning projects to employees, helping to develop schedules, audit inventory and safe, and merchandise product according to the sports season and demand.While working at this organization, I successfully implemented a feedback system in order to increase employee sales performance. I also developed an excel sheet to help track kiosk sales by individual employees, as well as to track how these sales affect overall sales numbers. Before leaving this position I embarked on a study to determine the full effectiveness of my feedback intervention.

I was paired with a professional advisor to help with their caseload. While I held this position I was responsible for the following things; meeting with undergraduate students seeking majors in communication, foreign languages, and psychology, advising students who were undeclared on the requirements for desired majors and how to obtain it, discuss school policy, and help with any other concerns they may have regarding academics and residential life. I also was required to attend weekly training, in which I was able to partner with a fellow co-worker and lead a training session. I also led a LINC class for one year.
