- Provide clinical care for animals (rodents, rabbits, dogs, cats, swine, reptiles, amphibians, fish and non human primates) to include medical and surgical care, phenotype characterization and animal model development.- Assist in mentoring residents, veterinary students, and externs in the department (ULAR).- Conduct research.- Voting member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at the University of Pensylvania- Provide support for health monitoring at the University of Pennsylvania.- Assist in managing a staff of 6 in the Diagnostic Services Department of ULAR.- Provide services related to maintaining on campus rodent health monitoring and disease outbreak mangement and prevention.- Shared oversight of rodent importation and exportation to include international shipments.Specialties: 1. Board certified by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine2. Interests include infectious diseases, reptile, aquatic, and amphibian medicine as well as facility design and management.
