Anthony Cervone is a songwriter, performer, guitarist, and singer whose life has revolved around music. From an early age, Anthony could be found conducting to Beethoven’s 5th symphony. Soon after, Anthony would learn how to play the piano, even though his true passion always rested with writing songs on the guitar. Being an only child and watching his father play in bands, Anthony soon ditched the piano lessons and taught himself guitar by listening to his father play. Although he received a performing arts award in high school and had the opportunity to perform with rock legend Phil Collins on songs like “In the Air Tonight” and “Land of Confusion,” it wasn’t until after he had enrolled in Northeastern University that he knew he wanted to pursue a career in music.Anthony Cervone applied to Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2020 without his parents’ knowledge. His father had always pushed a more professional career, however Anthony knew that his true passion was songwriting. After receiving an anonymous $75 gift card to his home address and using it to pay for the application, Anthony auditioned and was accepted to Berklee College of Music and would tell his parents after his acceptance that he would be continuing his education in music. While at Berklee, Anthony has played both keys and guitar with countless like-minded musicians who value collective individualism. A multi-instrumentalist, Anthony uses both keys and guitar when writing both for himself and other artists, and is a well-versed songwriter, performer and collaborator. Currently, he’s lead songwriter and guitarist in the band, The Nobodies, formed with classmate and friend Alex Senior, in the fall of 2021. After their first week together with Anthony jamming on guitar and Alex picking up on any melodies she heard and writing lyrics, their first song, “I’m Fine, I Swear” came to life. They continued to explore this formula by writing 2 more songs “Mother,” and “The Road,” in the same fashion. Anthony’s current project is making The Nobodies’ music available for everyone and the band is in process recording their first 7-song EP. Currently, Anthony promotes his and the band’s music by playing live as much as possible. He has also taken a creative approach to merchandise; instead of purchasing new T-shirts and other articles of clothing and printing on them, Anthony and the rest of the band believe in recycling old clothes and drawing the band logo at live shows as a way for audience members and the community to take home a piece of the experience.
