As a technical consultant the role consists of technical project delivery, planned work for Nexus customers and 3rd line faults. The customer base is extremely varied from privately owned companies in different industries to Public Sector organizations such as Councils and Emergency Services. Anthony is involved throughout the project lifecycle, from the initial pre-sales meeting with the customer, the technical design and specification to the implementation and documentation. In addition to project work I am also a technical escalation point within the Nexus team and takes ownership of a wide range of business critical faults raised by customers and works to a satisfactory resolution. An in depth understanding of Microsoft, VMware, Networking and Backup technologies is required, as well as best practices associated with each technology.

Responsible for the development and implementation of the Agency’s storage, backup & virtualisation strategies. Proactively monitor all servers/appliances and work with team members to rectify any problems, before it impacts business operations.Providing third line Microsoft infrastructure support whilst specializing in VMware, SAN storage, Active Directory, Exchange 2003-2010 and backup technologies.• Primary Engineer for VMware, Active Directory, Exchange 2003/2010, EAS Archiving, SCOM, WSUS, Backup/DR and NAS/SAN Storage• Secondary engineer for SQL, SCCM, IIS, Tandberg Video Conferencing, Microsoft Great Plains and McAffee EPO• Ensure all systems are securely designed, implemented and maintained• Design, implement and maintain data loss prevention solutions• Ensure servers are patched up to date using WSUS• Liaise with suppliers and other third parties to procure and manage Network infrastructure, Telephony and Hardware maintenance• Adherence to the Agency’s policies regarding security and quality control, specifically ISO27001 and the ITIL. Working with and supporting Windows 2000, XP and Server 2003 over 50 sites and 8000 users.
