About Anthony Coley

This included solid state, flash-lamp pumped, gas, and diode laser bar assembly and testing. Laser systems and light sources at various wavelengths and powers for GaN material science were used in many of the material science experiments I was heavily involved with. Opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical systems were also utilized. Vacuum, pressure, and cryogenics for gas and liquids and the associated integration to control the environmental conditions for testing. Test fixtures with system integration options, test racks, and cable systems were always custom builds. Experience also includes the use of electron microscopy including SEM, dual beam FIB (sample prep for TEM), TEM, and E-Beam probers. Various thermal technologies from hot plates or baths to environmental test chambers. Failure analysis, reliability, HALT and HASS, and some chemistry has also been in the mix. Surface-mount and thru-hole electronic board assemblies, and some PCB layout (PCB123). Made custom power supplies, power conditioners, audio systems, power amplifiers, analog and some digital camera / sensor vision systems. Experience creating data acquisition and control systems primarily utilizing programming code with LabVIEW to automate many experiments. And, of course, Microsoft Office. Extensive experience with various standard and specialized laboratory test equipment for all of the above.

Electronics Technician
High voltage, high power electronics for pulsed power applications. Proficient in the use of machine shop, various power and hand tools. As owner of 8 labs, integrally worked with the safety department for the creation of safety documentation and control for the compliance of all workers within said labs. Also mentored other technologist on technical and safety subjects, as well as advising management on same subjects.
Electro-Optical Technologist
Design, build, test, and document high-power solid state laser diode systems for various government agencies and industry corporations. Reliability, failure analysis, and packaging solutions were also an integral part of the work requirements. Assist engineers with design of solid-state laser arrays and their cooling systems; research and procured necessary components for engineering prototypes and production assemblies; build complete arrays to customer's specifications utilizing various soldering techniques and other engineering disciplines; optically lens production arrays to customer's specification; design test beds for proof of performance for production arrays and engineering prototypes including production assembly fixtures and lifetime reliability testing fixtures; supervised and trained four technician's activities to insure compliance in testing and ISO guidelines; provided documentation and other forms of feedback to engineers, technicians, marketing, quality and upper management to improve quality, performance, efficiency and costs for design and production projects; restructured Heat Capacity Solid-State Laser program for improved efficiency, which resulted in lower costs and on-time delivery for the first time. Other programs benefited from efforts to which costs and efficiency were improved; remotely worked with engineers and technicians at another production facility to overcome production crisis issues which resulted in saving 8 production employees jobs; interact and support company safety officer.
