Having worked in the horticultural industry for over four decades, I am passionate about empowering customers, suppliers and the business to collectively reach its full potential through innovate solutions and the delivery of quality products. Throughout my career history, I have demonstrated experience and excellence through IGC retail, front line wholesale sales, leading teams and strategic planning, through the sales and marketing lens. This provides me with an excellent foundation to continue this momentum and demonstrate my loyalty. With an operating model of continuous improvement, I lead with this intent as I review and improve my work, and my team’s work. I am team oriented in nature and believe in building collective capacity for retention, engagement and results. Leading teams fulfils me. I am a strong, empathetic leader who believes in providing clear direction to each department with key accountabilities, coordinating their specific skills and attributes to be successful. A key operating principle is that if they achieve, then we are all successful.Demonstrating this growth mindset, I continue to reflect on and learn from my years of experience, growing personally and professionally. This enhances my ability to build relationships, manage day-to-day sales, craft grower and retailer programs as well as strategically plan for the long term. It is my fundamental belief that an innovative approach is critical to achieving industry competitive advantage. Anticipating and planning for the latest horticultural trends and new products in horticulture has been a cornerstone of my approach, which has led to planning coordinating customer travels internationally.There is no auto pilot in the horticultural business nor industry. It is dynamic. With vast experience across retail and wholesale markets globally, it has allowed me to continue managing day-to-day sales, whilst planning for the future and anticipating future market trends.
