Assigned 14 management and 39 craft personnel involved in the preventive and corrective maintenance on a two PWR generating station. Achieving immediate impact with organizational analysis, gap closure, and personnel optimization to rapidly improve departmental performance and efficiency.

Responsible for direct oversight of the prime maintenance contractor, departmental improvement programs, corrective action program, and facilities maintenance. Accountable for a 1.7 million dollar facilities budget. Filled role as acting Maintenance Director in his absence, setting site maintenance priorities, participating in Senior Leadership Team, and reporting to the Plant Manager.

Strong emphasis on job hazard analysis and dose minimization due to extensive radiological challenges resulting from over 50 years of plutonium and uranium processing.

Direct assistant to Project Area Manager of a 700 person, 2 project unit. Responsible for rapid development and seamless delivery of lessons learned, conduct of operations, leadership improvement, human error prevention, and safety programs designed to have a targeted and immediate effect on productivity, efficiency, and cost.

Manager of a 64-person department responsible for the training and qualification of a 2000 person division at a DOE nuclear materials site. Focused on program standardization and the elimination of redundant and obsolete programs, conversion to computer based delivery, and integration of functional area task qualifications to achieve better operations and maintenance workforce flexibility and efficiency.

Manager of Shift Operations at a 22-tank High Level Radioactive Waste concentration and storage facility. Provided shift leadership/mentoring for 24 direct reports during the implementation of a new Authorization Basis, the final testing/acceptance phase of a new waste evaporator, as well as daily transfer/process activities. Set operations and maintenance priorities, directed control room and field operations, and drove schedule adherence.

Direct assistant to head of 370-person department. As director of operations, responsible for establishing, implementing, and assessing departmental policy, as well as directing casualty and routine operations of two reactor plants. When on watch as Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), directed the coordination and the safe operation of two reactor plants in all phases of operation, from normal parallel plant operations to maintenance configurations. As departmental Reactor Plant Drill Team leader, responsible for the design, validation, and implementation of a graduated drill program that included performance actions normally simulated due to their complexity and difficulty.

Contract administrator for a $138 million nuclear cruiser inactivation. Developed and implemented contract modifications required by emerging problems; oversaw the performance of work. Streamlined change evaluation and approval process between three government offices and local contractor. On-site technical authority for supervision of engineering, implementation, installation, and test program effectiveness of a set of integrated tow support systems on the inactivated cruiser hull.

Directly responsible for refueling operations of two 155MW reactors on a rotational shift basis. This involved in in-process control of shipyard work, as well as coordination between ship's operators and prime contractor. Involvement extended from pre-refueling plant preparations through all phases of testing to initial power range operations.

Led over 100 technicians in the repair and upkeep of a nine submarine squadron. Responsible for coordination and oversight of all welding, brazing, and machining services in support of the life-cycle repairs to squadron submarines. Span of work extended from the very simple to multiple reactor valve cut-out and replacements requiring extensive work order planning, radiological hazard mitigation, and post installation non-destructive testing.Safety Engineer for a NRC licensed industrial radiography laboratory with both remote gamma and laboratory x-ray capabilities. Responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as the design, implementation and integration of a new X-ray radiography licensing program.
