I was the Area Station manager for West Midlands trains at London Euston. I was responsible for all issues that may arise at a very busy station for west Midlands trains. I had five duty station managers that worked under me and over 50 staff who work on the station. These consisedt of retail/customer service and safety critical train dispatchers. I was involved with the HS2 project at the station and had to manage a massive change for our ticket office staff which saw us close our ticket office down, and then find new positions for the ticket office staff on the station. I was constantly in contact with Network rail who manage and own the station and i managed accordingly on behalf of West Midland Trains. I also had regular meeting with the trade unions keeping them informed of all the issues that arose at the station.

I was responsible for looking after two operational depots. One at Birmingham new street and the other at Coventry. I managed seven manager who in turn managed over 100 staff between them. I have good negotiating skills with the trade unions.

Watford Junction & Bletchley

I am responsible for managing 18 senior conductors at Watford Junction 12 at Bletchley and I have currently taken on another 25 at Northampton on secondment for 3 to 12 months. I am responsible for maintaining the competency for all my teams and the day to day management of my teams. I also deputise for the Area Passenger Service Manager who is responsible for stations between the London Euston and Tring.

Watford Junction

Manage Watford Junction on a daily basis.All aspects of station management.I manage a group of 40 staff. I manage12 outlying stations,between Watford and Tring and Watford and St Albans Abbey. I am a qualified A1 assessor and manage the competency files for the dispatch staff at the station. I have recently overhauled the whole CMS filing system at Watford station

London Victoria Station

I looked after the customer service staff approx 140 on a day to day basis everything from rostering through to sickness. I ensured that the department stayed within budget. Attended all aspects of meetings for and on behalf of Gatwick Express.I held monthly meetings and health and safety meetings with the unions. Covered for the Head of Customer Service when asked.I managed the Rail Gourmet and Starbucks contracts on behalf of the company.
