I worked as a software engineer at IBM for IBM Watson Health. This role was mainly focused on driving quality for a ReactJS design system and a number of web applications which, in turn, use those design systems.The role also included assessing the current testing strategy for these projects, researching best practices to include in future test strategies and setting and implementing necessary changes to the testing strategies for the project.This role had included exposure to and the use of the following libraries and frameworks:- UI component design with ReactJS.- Using development environments such as Fractal and Storybook in ReactJS component development and testing.- ReactJS component testing with Jest and Enzyme.- Unit testing of vanilla JavaScript using Jest and Mocha.- Using mocks to achieve effective and efficient unit testing verifications using Jest and Sinon.- Designing automation frameworks using InternJS (cross browser), Test Cafe (cross browser) and Puppeteer (smoke tests on Chrome). This includes building a framework for end to end testing and using the page object model from scratch, implementing that framework within our current test strategy and training other developers and teams on how to use the framework in their own test strategies.- Integration of InternJS automation test suites with Sauce Labs.- Visual regression testing with BackstopJS and Test Cafe, also building a visual regression framework from scratch using ResembleJs (visual comparisons) and Test Cafe (UI automation).- Integration of all test suites with Jenkins and Travis CI.- Leading and defining the UI automation development for our projects. This includes training other team members in how to use our existing UI automation frameworks, defining test scenarios including test steps and verifications for automation, reviewing code to ensure test quality and consistency is maintained, test planning and progress updates.

I worked as an Automation Engineer at IBM. My work here was primarily based around UI automation for an on premise and cloud-based application. The role here included creating, updating and maintaining test scripts using Selenium Webdriver in both Java and Jasmine automation specs. I also worked on building and maintaining the existing automation framework.In addition to this, my role here has also included building, improving on and maintaining an API framework which all automation scripts used.

Over the course of a 6 month internship, I worked primarily in the automation department of AOL. I was tasked with both the writing and maintenance of automation methods using the Selenium package and using JUnit assertions to validate program behaviour.Other tasks performed during this internship included the writing and carrying out of manual testing tasks, the majority of which were based around a new feature for my departments application. I was also required to write JUnit tests for this application in order to increase overall code coverage and aid program reliability.All code produced during this internship was written in Java and using the Spring framework.

I worked as a Senior Saw Operator during my time in Milltown Engineering.This job involved the programming, operation and occasional maintenance of the CNC operated Kaltenbach Saw and Drill Line machine. Programming this machine meant transferring the measurements and dimensions from engineering drawings to a program installed on the machine. I would then have to monitor the machine during the running of the program to ensure that everything ran and completed as expected. Maintenance tasks included ensuring that grease and oil levels were correct, the changing of the saw blade and keeping the machine and work area clean at all times.Other tasks I performed while working there included the driving of forklifts and sidelifts and the programming of the CNC machine used in the flashings department of the company. I also had to perform regular stock checks for all of the steel required by the saw and for the rolls of sheet steel required for the flashing machine.
