Lead engineer dedicated to operation, maintenance and modification of Space Shuttle ground umbilical systems - Utilizing engineering disciplines and analysis by gathering data throughout the operation of the system and writing technical disposition when problems arise to restore the system to drawing specifications. Space Shuttle ground Umbilical systems provide electrical power, command and control data, environmental control capability, purge commodities, and cryogenic piping to the Space Shuttle Orbiter. Experienced in working with processing facilities to solve problems and implement corrective actions using Documentum, Maximo and other software tools.Ground Systems Working Group Lead - Provides design phase subject matter expertise by supporting the Integrated Product Team (IPT) for Space Shuttle Umbilicals including drawing modification review and signature authority. Authors technical rational of off-nominal discrepancies for the Material Review Board (MRB) to accept as-is system conditions that may violate drawing specifications.
Applied knowledge of multidisciplinary processes and systems engineering methodology and techniques to develop, validate and manage product-level system/sub-system requirements and architectures to ensure system integration of Space Shuttle ground support systems. Analyzed, interpreted, and communicated findings in terms of integrated functional specifications (for performance, operation, maintenance, assembly, and checkout of the system) as well as other (e.g., regulatory and interface) design criteria as they pertain to Space Shuttle Umbilicals.
Focal point for all mission operational work areas to insure they are open and maintained for safe and efficient work inside the Space Station Processing Facility. Task leader for payload closeout activities in the Orbiter Payload Bay at the launch pad and on-site communications with Payload Test Conductor during test activities. Ensured proper coordination and support for real-time schedule changes and ensured the availability of people, parts, and paper to support near-term (48-hour) planned operations as it pertained to the Space Station US Lab module.
Focal point for coordination, integration, and prime communicator for all Orbiter Processing Facility high bay operational elements & disciplines involved in test, modification, and repair of the Orbiter. Tracked and recorded all processing activities, associated problems and significant carryover concerns affecting subsequent work shifts. Coordinated with appropriate processing disciplines to resolve problems and prioritized real-time schedule conflicts on work activities and resources.
