As a counselor, I act as both an ear of concern to my fellow counselors and as a role model to the adults and children throughout our programs. I have worked both as a leader and as a team player, earning the trust and respect of others. I have served adults, both in the alumni and those in the special needs program, families, children and teenagers in both recreational activities and social interactions. It has been far from easy, because much of your work experience and skills you learn on the job and you must learn to adapt quickly to any given situation, keeping in mind that at any given moment, you will be expected to know and more importantly, to act. My various responsibilities to the campers included:- Leading recreational activities throughout the day for each session.- Serving campers at mealtimes, on one hand, assisting the adults and families with their food and drinks, while on the other hand, teaching the kids to practice independance at mealtime.- Nighttime Activities- After hour care which includes making sure the adults and families are comfortable and happy while ensuring that the kids and teens get to bed on time.- Conflict resolution (when necessary) which entails resolving camper disagreements while following the proper procedures, given the situation at hand.It has been very rewarding and successful to say the least. I have definitely grown as an individual and as part of a group, and in the coming summers I hope to grow even more and continue to make a positive difference in the lives of both blind and visually impaired children and adults..

I have worked there since my first year of college, performing many repetitive but important tasks to ensure the companies growth and comfort. My responsibilities included:- Answering the phone for clients, taking messages and making appointments to come in.- Custodial duties, which included sanitation of the restroom, garbage disposal, vacuuming, etc.- Running errands for the manager ranging from retrieving the mail to picking up important supplies and funds for professional implementation. - Entrusted with confidential documents and personal information for both personal and corporate clients.- Interactions with clients, in person and over the phone.

I worked there as a server, my job consisted mainly of:- Retrieving food for the cashier to present the students.- running to other stations to retrieve food for the customers.- server to both the cashier and the customers demands.I served in two of the three cafe locations on Campus and made quite a few friends on the job. One of the perks was that I did not have to worry about packing a lunch everyday and they always served Caesar Salad EVERY OTHER WEEK!!!!
