MARATHON (Robinson, CA) – Crude/Coker Piping Project: (QA) – Field verified the following items were correct Bill of Materials matched line class and field and shop welds were correct with weld maps & logs. All necessary and required NDE was completed and associated reports were correct and with the piping traveler. All PWHT & Brinell Hardness tests were complete, correct, and with traveler. All valve trims were correct in the field, all NACE valves were correct in the field, Full-Port valves were correctly installed, correct gasket size and material were used, correct bolts were used, correct pipe material and schedule, and that all final bolted joints were correctly installed with considerations to bolt torque, short bolts, centerline high/low, parallelism, rational-two hole, and gap spacing. SHELL (Martinez, CA) – GOHT/NHT, Crude/Vacuum: GOHT/NHT Reactors - Oversaw inspections of a complete disassembly and re-install of new retro-fitted internals of both the Gas Oil Hydrotreater Reactor Internals as well as the Naphtha Hydrotreater Reactor Internals. Vacuum Column - Due to leaking plug welds and bulging found in strip liner, (16) panels were removed and the base metal was 100% weld-overlaid. Repairs included the restoration of the cladding, previously weld-repaired areas, flush patches, and internal nozzle protrusions. All column zones and internals were tracked and accounted for - PHILLIPS 66 (Billings, MT) – Vacuum Improvements Project (Current): Quality Assurance on New Construction of Equipment and Piping for the new Vacuum Unit currently under construction. Offsite Vendor Surveillance on new fabrications for the Vacuum Improvement Project, to include coating inspections. Turnaround Inspection Coordinator for the COKER and HDS areas for upcoming spring 2017 Plant wide shutdown.

Familiarized self with prior history of the vessel, reviewed the vessel’s prior inspection results, prior repairs, and current inspection plan. Determined the types of inspection required, e.g. internal, external, on-stream, etc. Performed internal inspection of vessels in accordance with the inspection plan. Verified that all new materials used during repairs or alterations were consistent with the specifications (PMI). Assured that the minimum preheat and post-weld heat treatments were performed in accordance with the qualified welding procedures. Authorized any repair or alteration work before the work was started, and designated the hold points that are required. Determined the corrosion rates, remaining life, and next inspection date for each pressure vessel. Reviewed and updated the inspection and NDE techniques required for each piece of equipment, including the extent and locations of inspection and NDE. Ensured all NDE results are evaluated and determined to be accepted or rejected, with recommendations to resolve all deficiencies. Specified any special equipment access requirements, including all safety conditions and permissions. Maintained permanent and progressive records of all pressure vessels and pressure-relieving devices, including adding new information pertinent to the operation, inspection, and maintenance history of the equipment.
