The Advisory Board was charged with providing objective and expert advice to the leadership of JUA in relation to compliance, industry best practice, future direction and strategy. I was also engaged to assist in operational matters where my experience and network could assist.

Lumley Insurance provided ISR, Liability, Commercial Motor, Construction, SME and related classes via it's network of brokers. I was responsible for leading our distribution teams nationally, building external relationships and driving strategic and tactical activities to achieve organisational objectives. I successfully lead the team through significant change and effectively engaged internal stakeholders. Together we enhanced our relationships with individual intermediaries and broker groups, improved professional disciplines and delivered improved business results.

I successfully engaged executives and senior management within national broker groups including Steadfast, Austbrokers and OAMPS, and significant individual brokerages to build relationships, improve mutual understanding and increase premium income.

Suncorp is one of the largest banking and insurance organisations within Australia. In this role I assumed full responsibility for growth, profit and relationship management for a new team, combining four distinct intermediary portfolios. Together we implemented initiatives to increase income, including joint marketing, systems deployment and product improvements, and successfully retained a significant relationship, winning contracts for additional brands and products.

I successfully managed re-invigoration of our relationship with AMP and re-negotiation of our distribution partnership, with the new agreement including improved terms for both parties such as an extended period, aligned planning and incentives. I assumed full P&L responsibility for the portfolio and worked closely with AMP's leadership team and internal stakeholders to successfully improve growth and profitability outcomes.

I improved alignment across the commercial business by collaboratively developing strategies, plans and targets, aligning functions, and effectively articulating our vision and purpose. We improved reporting and analysis, driving a focus on key issues and actions, performance drivers and strategy.
