With over 12 years of experience as a professor and department chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), I am passionate about advancing the field of electrical engineering through research, teaching, and mentoring. In 2022, I also served as a Visiting Professor for the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing, and Perception Laboratory (GRASP) at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn). My expertise lies in machine learning and artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and wireless sensor systems, nonlinear system analysis including power grids studies, mobile and web software development, and custom hardware prototyping. My most recent research is published in the IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IET Wireless Sensor Systems Journal, Proceedings of the IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Cluster, Cloud, and Grid Computing, as well as IEEE Transactions on Power Systems. I am currently the chairperson for the IEEE Power and Energy Society Student Activities Subcommittee. I also have more than 20 years of experience as a technical consultant, helping entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality with my skills in analog and digital hardware as well as web and mobile software development.As an educator, I am passionate about advancing the field of electrical engineering through innovative and engaging courses, covering topics such as linear circuit analysis, analog electronics, mathematical foundations of electrical engineering, as well as my own areas of specialization. I have supervised and advised many undergraduate and graduate students, as well as junior faculty, on their research projects, theses, and career development.My mission is to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at TCNJ, and to create impactful and sustainable solutions for the engineering challenges of the 21st century.
