BPW Transpec products are supplied to customers via warehouses and trailer servicing and repairs are conducted from workshops located throughout Australia.After accepting the role as National Compliance Manager in May 2012 I was responsible for ensuring that the organisation was legally compliant in all area of safety across the states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia with a key focus on risk management. Traffic Management Plans, manual handling initiatives and a 5 S project were required to be rolled out nationally. Responsibilities:• Ongoing development of a WH&S Safe Management System to AS 4801 to pursue an active goal of zero workplace incidents and injuries.• Development and implementation of WH&S Risk Management Programme to AS 31000. Conduct risk assessments by assessing and evaluating the risks, ensuring the development and implementation of corrective actions.• Develop and implement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety Legislation and Australian Standards.• Manage WorkCover claims to develop effective return to work strategies that benefit the injured worker and reduce the financial impact for the organisation.• Develop, monitor and control safety KPIs and provide a report to the Joint Managing Directors on a monthly basis.• Proactively lead a team of professionals resulting in stability, longevity, improved safety behaviours and safety outcomes.• Develop and conduct training sessions on various WHS / OHS topics to provide a high level of safety education and awareness.• Ensure that plant maintenance, inspection and certification occur as per schedule in order to minimise assembly line disruption through plant breakdowns.

L Arthur has been providing transport services spanning three centuries and is one of Melbourne's oldest privately owned transport companies and provides machinery relocation and haulage, container and quarantine as well as warehouse and distribution services.In July 2010 I was given the responsibility of the Quarantine Division and was promoted to the position of Wharf Logistics Manager responsible for the Wharf Cartage Division in addition to my role as head of the Container Division. As a result of this promotion, I relinquished my role as head of the Safety & Compliance Division to a junior manager. As part of my day-to-day responsibilities I am still required to continue to provide ongoing support and advice to the Safety & Compliance Department.As Wharf Logistics Manager I am responsible for up to 70 employees comprising 14 staff members, three reach stacker operations, 25 company drivers and 12 owner/drivers as well as five warehouse staff and numerous casual workers.Responsibilities:• Bottom line financial performance of the Division.• Maximise productivity for the Division to ensure work is performed efficiently by controlling appropriate organisational structure, manning and resource procurement and allocation.• Ensure optimum yard planning, shipping container and paperwork management and minimising costs associated with empty container management and wharf terminal penalties.• Analysis of operational data to develop benchmarks & establish KPIs.• Monitor and control KPIs to ensure delivery and financial targets are being achieved as per budget.• Develop and maintain sound client relationships and ensure service requirements are achieved.• Report the Division's overall operational performance to Senior Management and the Board of Directors.• Develop and review the Division’s Business Operational Plan for each financial year.

Responsibilities:• Maintain safety, Mass Management and ISPM 15 accredited systems.• Liaise with the IT Department for the development and implementation of an in-house computer system that tracked shipping container movements and streamlined operational management systems.• Investigate methods to improve efficiency for staff members in operations and developed KPIs to benchmark and measure truck delivery performance linked to staff performance reviews.• Management of the Safety & Compliance Department.
