Profile bio

About Anthony Ellison

For over a decade I have focused on delivering support services to “at-risk” populations and administrating programs. Beyond my understanding of policy and procedure issues and requirements necessary for the operation of any program - reporting, managing annual budgets, supervising staff, planning, coordinating, and organizing activities - my focus on people most in need of assistance has remained resolute. Working in various capacities, I have endeavored to impact the lives of middle school students via after-school programming. I have assisted incarcerated and post-incarcerated men and women in developing the life skills and attitude necessary to transition out of prison and integrate into society. I have supported families indicated by the Administration for Children Services (ACS) in strategizing, charting, and implementing plans to improve family functioning. I have provided employment training, academic support, mentorship, counseling, case, anger, and conflict management to young men and women struggling to develop a sense of identity and to carve out their position in the world. I have helped young men to become nurturing parents by assisting them in developing their parental and independent living skills. My experience has taught me valuable lessons about the human spirit; its resolve; its malleability; its potential to thrive given attention, support, and space to grow. The greatest contribution anyone can make to the lives of others is to invest. Not necessarily money! But of themselves. Social capital is the key to helping people to help themselves.

Listed skills include Program Development, Social Services, Case Management, Community Outreach, and 41 others.
