PURPOSE OF POSITIONProvide administrative, technical and project management support to all departmental functions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSManage the school crossing guard program:Coordinate with the school crossing guard captain for daily assignments and replacements.Provide training to all crossing guards as needed.Manage the annual rehiring process as needed.Coordinate inventory and purchasing of uniforms, equipment and supplies as needed.Assist in communications with Tyler Independent School District staff as needed.Oversee the contract management of a 385 space municipal parking garage.Supervise parking meter patrols:Supervise parking meter patrol staff.Coordinate meter maintenance as needed.Handle meter/parking ticket complaints and inquiries.Oversee and cooridinate the development, tracking, and updating of the Quarterly Department Business PlanAssist with departmental budget preparation, and project budget management:Assist with the preparation of the annual departmental budget.Monitor, track invoices, expenditures and prepare monthly budget forecasts for departmental functions.Monitor and track expenditures for Federal, State, and department construction projects.Coordinate and track requests for signal, sign and street lights and special events.Manage departmental construction project records and payments:Process and track traffic requests from internal and external customer requests.Coordinate with the traffic engineer, sign/striping supervisor and signal supervisor on various traffic issues.Coordinate with internal and external customers for special events relating to traffic control.Submit reports to applicable funding agencies.Issue purchase orders, track invoices, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
